The professional master's course in professional health education is organized with the following curricular components:

They constitute the central core of the master's students' training and are the following:

Professional Education in Brazil: contexts and current issues

Syllabus: the specificity of professional education as a policy of education and work; current framework of Vocational Education in Brazil; legislation and regulation of vocational education in the reform from the 1990s to the 2000s; governmental and civil society challenges in the supply and quality of professional education; integrated curriculum in professional health education: polytechnics x pedagogy of competences; structural duality.

Education and Health Policies

Syllabus: genesis and trajectory of social policies in Brazil; changes in power reallocations in contemporary Brazil and social policies; the meaning of changes in education and health policies in Brazil today.

Economics of Education and Conceptions of Training in Health

Syllabus: the specificity of the capitalist mode of production, education and health; concept of ideology; intellectuals and power; relationship between State, education and society; social division of labor and education; work and education in liberal and Marxist perspectives; the human capital theory. "human resources" in health and the training of health workers; Knowledge Society, Information Society, employability and skills and worker training for capital; polytechnic or technological human formation and the formation of the emancipated citizen.

They present the epistemological and methodological foundations of the research, in an interdisciplinary approach, aiming at the construction, discussion and collective analysis of the elaboration and development of research projects. The mandatory activities are:

a) Interdisciplinary Research Seminars I

Menu: the production of knowledge in the face of different conceptions of reality, worldviews and social classes; common sense and scientific knowledge; knowledge for rationalism and empiricism; the historical, complex and relative character of knowledge; the object of science, theory and categories of analysis in the construction of the object of investigation

b) Interdisciplinary Research Seminars II

They are linked to research lines and aim to provide an exchange between master's students and professors in the discussion of pre-research projects.

Menu: Construction of the research object; information sources; research subjects; primary and secondary data; collective guidance for the elaboration of the dissertation; discussion of theoretical-methodological references; ethical aspects in research and discussion of the methodological path chosen for the development of the research project.

c) Orientation Activity

Work Plan between supervisor and supervisee, including freely agreed activities, whose compliance will be attested by the supervisor through a specific report to be delivered to the Program Coordination.

d) Preparation and defense of the dissertation or other type of Final Paper (TC)

Activity oriented towards the elaboration of the dissertation or TC and defense, as a partial requirement for obtaining the title.

The elective courses are intended to provide a specific basis for the research projects of the Master's students and will be offered according to the academic planning of the Collegiate of the Program. The master's student, in dialogue with his advisor, must build a training trajectory by choosing elective courses consistent with his object of study.

Tópicos Especiais em Educação Profissional: Território e Territorialização na Educação Profissional em Saúde

Pretende-se que os alunos discutam e reflitam criticamente sobre as possibilidades dos conceitos e métodos da geografia, em especial a categoria território, na formação de trabalhadores da saúde – cenários e processos, nos tópicos: o território e a determinação social da saúde; trabalho territorializado e as práticas de saúde; a territorialização em processos formativos; e o papel do território na construção da identidade de trabalhadores no SUS.

As disciplinas eletivas têm por finalidade fundamentar de forma específica os projetos de investigação dos(as) mestrandos(as) e serão oferecidas de acordo com o planejamento acadêmico do Colegiado do Programa. O(a) mestrando(a), em diálogo com seu(sua) orientador(a), deverá construir uma trajetória de formação mediante a escolha de disciplinas eletivas coerentes com seu objeto de estudo.

Ética Aplicada à Pesquisa nas Humanidades

A disciplina irá abordar os aspectos históricos da ética, da moral e da bioética e seus conceitos fundamentais, bem como, a bioética na pesquisa com seres humanos, as normas, as resoluções e os demais marcos legais para a ética em pesquisa, o sistema CEP/CONEP, elaboração de protocolos de pesquisa, operacionalização na Plataforma Brasil e reflexões éticas sobre os projetos de pesquisa dos alunos.
